Word of the Day: Prayers of Worship

9 “This, then, is how you should pray:

“‘Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
10 your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.

Matthew 6:9-10

One type of prayer we can offer to God is prayers of worship or adoration. Worshiping God involves adoring Him and dedicating ourselves to Him, choosing to do His will every day. By worshiping God, we acknowledge His greatness and lordship, we lift up His name, and open our hearts to Him. In praying in worship, our focus is on God, not on ourselves.

The Bible calls us to worship God with all our hearts, not just in words, but in spirit and truth.

23 Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. 24 God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.”
John 4:23-24

Praying in worship to God requires us to examine our hearts and our entire being more closely. How can I please God more? How can I draw closer to Him and His will for my life?

Pray every day, putting God first in your life, acknowledging His love and all He has done for you. Express your desire to live in obedience and inquire how you can do His will. Pray and worship the One who deserves it, the Lord God and Savior who loves you so much.

Word of the Day: An invitation and A Challenge

God extends an invitation and a challenge to all who love Him.

The Invitation

Come and learn more about the love of God! God loves you so much and he desires to have a deeper relationship with you, one where he will bless you abundantly.

May the Lord direct your hearts into God’s love and Christ’s perseverance.

2 Thessalonians 3:5

9 “As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. 10 If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love.

12 My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.

John 15:9-10,12

So how does God love us? How does it feel to be loved by God?

There are five features of God's love that we can experience from him today:

  1. It is unconditional: God's love is not based on what we do or how we behave; it is given to everyone regardless of their worthiness or behavior.

  2. It is selfless: God's love is sacrificial and self-giving, evident in the death of Jesus. It seeks the well-being of others, at great personal cost.

  3. It is Eternal: God's love will never end. It does not diminish or fluctuate based on what we do or say but remains constant throughout all times and circumstances.

  4. It is inclusive: God's love is a gift for all people, without discrimination or exclusion. He offers it to every individual, regardless of their race, sex, ethnicity, nationality, or background.

  5. It is redemptive: God's love has the ultimate goal of reconciling humanity to Himself. This is the foundation of God's plan; to save the world through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

The Challenge

And this is the challenge: it's time to be fruitful! God wants to help you mature and be transformed so that you bear much fruit. The goal of this is to glorify God. By living in a relationship with Christ and producing spiritual fruit, we can show how much we love God, through bringing him all the honor and praise.

5 “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. 6 If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. 7 If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. 8 This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.

John 15:5-8

But it is a challenge, there is a warning in this passage, and the consequence of leaving Jesus' side is that we become outcasts.

Do you accept the invitation and the challenge?

Follow Christ's direction, and meet with Him right now!

God has come to give us messages of hope

Day Before Yesterday's Word

Word of the Day: Don't Give Up, You're More Than a Winner

37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 8:37-39

Do you realize that God will never abandon you? Your situation may be dire but don't give up. God is in control of everything, and has already taken action to provide you with success!

When God promised to take the people of Israel out of Egypt, things became a lot tougher at first. For those who were enslaved, their work increased, and the harshness of the taskmasters more and more. Hope diminished each time Pharaoh said no. But God is faithful, he liberated His people.

11 and brought Israel out from among them
His love endures forever.
12 with a mighty hand and outstretched arm;
His love endures forever.

13 to him who divided the Red Sea asunder
His love endures forever.
14 and brought Israel through the midst of it,
His love endures forever.
15 but swept Pharaoh and his army into the Red Sea;
His love endures forever.

16 to him who led his people through the wilderness;
His love endures forever.

Psalm 136:11-16

Through the cross and the death of Jesus, God has also liberated us. Life now may be difficult, we face daily struggles, but what about the 'big picture'? - death itself has been conquered so that we can spend eternity with God. We have been given the assurance that nothing will ever be able to separate us from the love of God. God loves you, and His love endures forever!

With God's love, we are champions!
