Today's Word

Word of the Day: Revival begins like this...

On the day of Pentecost, when the Holy Spirit descended on Jesus' disciples, there was a great revival. It began with prayer. That's how every revival begins, God's people praying and calling out to God asking for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit.

Revival is not necessarily immediate, it may take days, weeks, or even years, but when we pray and don't give up, God listens to us and brings revival. And in moments of waiting and persistence, God is not idle - he is at work shaping our character and preparing the ground for a revival that will extend beyond us and will impact our communities and nations.

2"Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting."

16 No, this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel:

17 "In the last days, God says,
I will pour out my Spirit on all people.
Your sons and daughters will prophesy,
your young men will see visions,
your old men will dream dreams.
18 Even on my servants, both men and women,
I will pour out my Spirit in those days,
and they will prophesy."
[...]
21 "And everyone who calls
on the name of the Lord will be saved."
Acts 2:2, 16-18, 21

Do you pray for revival?

We should be praying continually (1 Thessalonians 5:17). This is the recommendation of the Apostle Paul in the Bible because he knew the power of prayer. In his life, he also experienced the power of revival. Seek the Lord daily through prayer and Bible reading, and you will see wonderful things happen in your life!

Pray earnestly, stay rooted in the Word, and anticipate the wondrous things that God will unfold in response to the cries of His people.

28 “And afterward,
I will pour out my Spirit on all people.
Your sons and daughters will prophesy,
your old men will dream dreams,
your young men will see visions.
29 Even on my servants, both men and women,
I will pour out my Spirit in those days.
- Joel 2:28-29

Word of the Day: God wants to bless your professional life!

God wants to help you sustain yourself and do good work! He has the power to give you a job and help you succeed. God blesses those who strive and give their best. Glorify God in the way you work or seek employment, and He will bless you!

The Lord will send a blessing on your barns and on everything you put your hand to. The Lord your God will bless you in the land he is giving you.
Deuteronomy 28:8

God's blessing is more than just a large salary. Deuteronomy 28:8 speaks of provision and favor in all aspects of our work, promising blessings upon everything we put our hands to. We can be assured that when we approach our work with faith and expectation, God is intimately involved in every detail of our professional lives.

Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.
Proverbs 16:3

God wants to bless us! But we have to recognize that God is the ultimate provider of opportunities and success shifts our perspective. While hard work and dedication are essential, ultimately, it is God who opens doors and grants favor in our careers. Proverbs 16:3 reminds us to commit our work to the Lord, acknowledging His sovereignty over our plans and endeavors.

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.
- Colossians 3:23

More than many things, our attitude and heart are crucial. In Colossians 3:23 Paul is encouraging the church to work wholeheartedly, looking for heavenly, rather than for human approval. This perspective transforms even mundane tasks into acts of worship, elevating the significance of our daily labor.

Wait on the Lord with strength & Courage!

Wait for the Lord. Be strong! Take heart! Wait for the Lord.

-- Psalms 27:14

Patience. It's so easy to talk about it, yet so hard to practice. In the world we live in, everything is so fast-paced and instantaneous that patience has become increasingly rare.

When God asks us to be patient and wait, we need to remember that it will only work if we truly trust Him to handle any situation.

But we also need to be strong and courageous! Waiting doesn't mean burying our heads in the sand. It means we can face any situation knowing that God is in control.

In the bible, there are several inspiring examples of people who had to wait to receive the blessing that was offered to them. One example is Abraham and Sarah, who, having been promised by God that they would be the ancestors of a great nation started to have doubts.

They both remained strong in their faith and courageous in their patience. Paul uses their patience as an example in his letter to The Hebrews when reassuring the church that they can be confident in all that God has promised them.

13 When God made his promise to Abraham, since there was no one greater for him to swear by, he swore by himself, 14 saying, “I will surely bless you and give you many descendants.” 15 And so after waiting patiently, Abraham received what was promised.

Hebrews 6: 13-15

We wait patiently for God to act because we can have the same certainty in his promises.
