Today's Word
Word of the Day: God has open arms, God wants to forgive you.
God wants to forgive you! Perhaps you're feeling distant, far from God, because you've done something wrong and your conscience weighs heavily on you.
20 So he got up and went to his father.
“But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him.
21 “The son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son.’
22 “But the father said to his servants, ‘Quick! Bring the best robe and put it on him. Put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet.23 Bring the fattened calf and kill it. Let’s have a feast and celebrate. 24 For this son of mine was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’ So they began to celebrate.
This story of The Prodigal (or 'Lost') Son shows how much God loves and forgives us. In the story, a young man asks his dad for his share of the money which he then goes and spends foolishly. When he has nothing left, he returns home, feeling truly sorry. Although he anticipates working for his dad what happens is that his dad welcomes him back with open arms and throws a big party.
No matter how far we wander from Him, or how many mistakes we make, God is always ready to forgive us when we decide to come back to Him. God is filled with compassion. God runs out to us, hugs us, and shows us His endless love and mercy.
It's true, sin is a trap that sometimes catches us in stubbornness and pride. But do you want to return to God's arms? The truth is, He is eager to forgive you! Just approach God knowing that you have done wrong - knowing, like the prodigal son, that you are ' no longer worthy to be called [...] son', - and God's grace will sustain you. Or, as it says in the Methodist Holy Communion Service: "Lord, we come to your table, trusting in your mercy and not in any goodness of our own. We are not worthy even to gather up the crumbs under your table, but it is your nature always to have mercy, and on that we depend."
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
1 John 1:9
He is faithful and He is just. He will forgive you. Don't wait any longer! Are you ready to depend on Him?

A happy heart makes the face cheerful,
but heartache crushes the spirit.
Proverbs 15:13

Don't worry, feeling sad is not a sin. But God wants to lift you out of it! Do you want to receive this joy?
Let His joy fill every inch of your heart, filling you with a peace that is beyond all understanding and a hope that will carry you through every trial.

Word of the Day: Have Courage, God Wants to Heal your Wounds!
If your heart is wounded and hurt, there is only one solution that will truly work.
He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.
- Psalm 147:3
The answer is in the verse above. Only God can resolve the sadness in your heart. Only He can heal all the hurts.
There's no use trying to heal your heart in any other way. God sees your pain, and He wants to heal your wounds! Call out to Him today!
Heal me, Lord, and I will be healed;
save me and I will be saved,
for you are the one I praise.Jeremiah 17:14
When you cry out to God with all your heart, He hears you. God always answers the prayers of His children, whether by giving peace to the heart, granting patience to wait for His response, or providing instant healing. He always does something; we just have to trust and wait. In due time, you will see His movement in your life, and your faith will be strengthened.
1I waited patiently for the Lord;
he turned to me and heard my cry.
2 He lifted me out of the slimy pit,
out of the mud and mire;
he set my feet on a rock
and gave me a firm place to stand.Psalm 40:1-2
Whatever pain you are suffering now or the wounds in your heart, bring it all before the Lord with faith and confidence. Persevere in prayer and trust in God's love for you. He will not only help you overcome it but also grow stronger in your journey with Him.
