Daily Devotional
A daily devotional to strengthen your relationship with God.
Today's Devotional
Defend the gospel!
"When I saw that they were not acting in line with the truth of the gospel, I said to Cephas in front of them all, “You are a Jew, yet you live like a Gentile and not like a Jew. How is it, then, that you force Gentiles to follow Jewish customs?""
Galatians 2:14
Already in his old age and close to death, the apostle Paul told Timothy to be "ready in season and out of season", and forewarned him of the problems that would occur in the future. This advice did not come without experience, as the apostle himself had lived through situations in which he defended the truth in unexpected ways.
In his letter to the Galatians, Paul recounts the time he met Peter, an older apostle who had walked with Christ for years. He might have been intimidated or apprehensive about rebuking him, but dared to do so nonetheless.
In the same way, we must not be intimidated by anyone, and we must stand up for the truth. To do so, we must also train ourselves, and be prepared in season and out of season.
Be ready
- Prepare yourself by reading the Bible every day.
- Pray to God and ask him to reveal himself to you, deepen your relationship with the Father.
- Be courageous enough to be yourself as a Christian in daily life.
Pray:
Lord, my God and Father, I pray to you to give me the wisdom to take a stand at times when the truth is being distorted. Give me, Father, the courage to stand before unbelievers and preach the gospel. Help me, Holy Spirit of God, to be prepared in season and out of season, in Jesus' name, amen.
Yesterday's Devotional
When my self decreases, God increases!
"He must become greater; I must become less."
John 3:30
It's normal for human beings to have the desire to succeed. Now, when we are doing God's will, our own desires must take second place. In God's work, the principle thing is his Kingdom. That's why, when we're helping in God's work, our will should be diminished.
Seeking God's Kingdom is not a race for success, but a mission that requires us to give ourselves up. It is precisely when we surrender to God's will that he surprises us and blesses us more and more. When we decrease, God grows in our lives and his presence satisfies us.
Decreasing does not mean that we will succumb; on the contrary, when we let go of our desires, we attract God's eyes and receive his protection.
Put God first
- Dedicate yourself to doing God's will and He will surprise you.
- Remember: our growth is to make the name of Jesus even greater.
- Volunteer in your local church. Help God's work in your area.
Pray:
Lord, I want to do your will. Teach me how to be a good servant, Your Kingdom comes first and Your will makes me happy. Amen!
Day Before Yesterday's Devotional
Don't be discouraged! Just trust in God
"But as for you, be strong and do not give up, for your work will be rewarded.”
2 Chronicles 15:7
Not all days are good, as the popular saying goes, "It's not all roses". The Bible doesn't hide this from us. There will be days of laughing, days of weeping, days of rest and days of hard labour (Ecclesiastes 3:1-10).
Despite trials, the Bible must remain our source of faith. When we base our faith on God's Word, we receive the strength we need to face the day to day. The situation around us may be difficult, but we must stand firm in what we believe. Every storm has its end and at the right time we will rejoice in God.
Don't be discouraged, trust in God!
- God is always willing to listen to us, whether on good days or bad. You are not alone, talk to him.
- The Bible is our compass in the midst of the storm. Orient your life through God's Word.
Pray:
God, I know that you are Lord of everything, of good days and bad. Keep me, guide me according to your Word. I trust in you and I know that my sadness will turn to joy, because I know that you love me. Amen!
What is the Daily Devotional
The Daily Devotional is a special moment of your day that you dedicate to having a precious time of intimacy with God. It is very simple to establish an exciting routine of discovery and spiritual growth. You will achieve this by setting aside a moment each day to draw near to the Lord. During the Devotional, you will read a Bible verse with a meditation on the text. Then, you will meditate on the teachings and how to apply them in your life. In the end, you can pray.
How to do your Daily Devotional
Here are some tips for making the most of reading the Bible message during the Daily Devotional:
- Set aside a moment and choose a specific place: your devotional time will be more beneficial if you set aside the hustle and bustle and invest in a pleasant time alone with God.
- Read the verse or Bible passage attentively: develop a lifestyle committed to the Word of God every day and avoid distractions.
- Read the daily meditation: reflect and try to understand God's purpose for your life through the comments.
- Practical application: jot down your findings and don't forget to put into practice everything you have learned through the Bible.
- Share what you learned: try to share with people around what God has been teaching you in your moments of daily devotion as you go about your daily conversations and interactions.
Don't forget the importance of living a life fully committed to the Word of God!
