God always adds more!
And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.
2 Corinthians 9:8
We have a mighty God who does great things and is capable of performing wonders in our lives. He is able to add even more grace and blessings beyond our expectations. God does more than we ask or imagine. For His power to work, we must be open to God's movement. In colloquial terms, we need to "hand over the steering wheel" of our lives to Him.
God knows what is best for our lives. He is the reason and purpose of our existence; we are His instruments. And there is nothing better for an instrument than to be played by a skilled musician. Alone, we are not capable of achieving great things and we will always fall short of what we could be.
But when we position ourselves before God, we open up the possibility of being stretched to the fullest, because the one who governs the universe is capable of making us grow even more in grace and good works. Allow God to guide your life, make room in your decisions and expectations for God's action. He is powerful to bless you abundantly!
Growing in grace:
- Meditate on the Word of God; nourish your faith by reading and listening to the Word.
- Put into practice what you meditate upon. The Gospel is practical, and the fruit of good works only emerges when we sow.
- Allow yourself to be taught by God with a humble and willing heart to learn. God gives us challenges and blessings to grow in faith; we should act as servant learners and not as masters or "customers of God."
Let's Pray:
Lord Jesus, you know what is best for my life. Your plans are greater than mine; guide me. Lead me in a way that I may bear good fruit and bless those around me. I want to bear fruit; I want to grow in grace! Amen.
Yesterday's Devotional
God is present
The LORD Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress.
Psalm 46:7
"The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel" (which means "God with us").
Matthew 1:23
God is the present God! He does not abandon you when the crisis tightens or when sadness comes. Unlike all who have abandoned you, He is a strong fortress in times of distress. Every difficulty you are going through can be eased by the mighty hands of the Lord! He is great and is by your side, even if you don't feel it. He renews your hopes and transforms your darkness into light...
Jesus is the great Immanuel - “God with us.” He could have lived above us or far from us, but He did not! He lived among us and cared for the weak and helpless. He became a friend to sinners and a brother to the poor. He is present, and He sustains you through every storm. Trust in the Lord persistently!
God came to us
- God of us all! Jesus did not limit or restrict His company to a specific group: He is the present God with all — men, women, small and great, nationals and foreigners, sick and healthy, weak and courageous. He is our God!
- God is present in the mountains and in the valleys. He accompanies you in suffering and joy. Remember this every day.
- Pray for His presence to be noticeable in your life. Acknowledge God in your ways.
- Cling to the Word of God every day. It will teach you and strengthen your faith.
- You are not alone! You are secure in the hands of the Savior of the world. Rest in the Lord!
Let’s Pray:
Lord, thank you for Your constant presence. When everyone else withdraws, You remain close to us, taking care of us. I believe that You, God Emmanuel, will never abandon us, even when everything seems so difficult and lost. Stay with us, our beloved and good Jesus, today and always, through Your eternal love! Amen.
Day Before Yesterday's Devotional
Word of the Day: Find peace in all situations!
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:6-7
In the passage above Paul hands us advice on what we can do in every situation to find peace. His solution is through prayer and petition. when we do this we receive the peace of God, which we are told will guard our hearts.
Later in the same passage, we see a little more of the character of Paul and how his peace is manifested:
I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. 12 I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. 13 I can do all this through him who gives me strength.
Philippians 4:11-13
The Apostle Paul witnessed great miracles and had great success as a preacher, but he also suffered much pain, sadness, and persecution. Paul had many ups and downs, but he learned how to have peace and contentment in all circumstances.
He trusted in Jesus. When you trust in Jesus, you can find peace even in the most difficult times!
