Daily Devotional
A daily devotional to strengthen your relationship with God.
Today's Devotional
Christian, rejoice when you are persecuted!
Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
Matthew 5:11-12
When Jesus spoke these words, He was delivering the famous "Sermon on the Mount." In these teachings, He succinctly presented the practical principles and values of the Kingdom of God. The "beatitudes" mark the beginning of this great discourse, bringing inverted standards about the "more than happy" life that Christians can experience.
When we live out our faith in Christ truly and intentionally, the world will oppose us, trying to insult and mistreat us. The Lord teaches us to fill ourselves with joy and contentment when we are persecuted for His sake. The work of Christ is precious! It is worth enduring hardships and insults for the sake of faith... Your reward with God will be much greater!
Rejoice in persecution:
- Pray daily to God, ask for His guidance and wisdom to deal with persecution.
- Do not be discouraged in your walk with God because of the difficulties you face. The Lord is by your side in every moment and sustains you.
- Strengthen your faith through the Word of God every day.
- Rejoice, praise, and thank God for the privilege of being persecuted for the sake of Jesus Christ.
- Intercede for the persecuted Church around the world. There are thousands of Christians who are constantly at risk of life and other harm because of their faith.
- Remain faithful to the Lord! Remember the example of suffering from the disciples, apostles, and the Lord Jesus Christ Himself, who even when persecuted, in prison, under threat of affliction and death, remained faithful until the end!
- Be careful not to be persecuted for a bad testimony or for acting unwisely!
Let’s Pray:
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for always being by my side, even when I am insulted, wronged, and persecuted for being a Christian. Help me endure difficulties, keeping the faith firm and a good testimony wherever I go. Teach me to rejoice in afflictions and bring to my mind that which gives me hope. Bless all the brothers and sisters who suffer persecution around the world. I ask and thank You in the name of Jesus! Amen.

Freedom vs. Libertarianism
You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love.
Galatians 5:13
When we accept Christ, we free ourselves from the oppressive shackles of sin. There's nothing better than feeling free and recognizing the price that was paid for our freedom: the blood of Jesus. Our freedom is the fruit of God's love for us!
To stay free, you need to remember the price of Salvation and be aware of the Devil's traps. Even Jesus was tempted by Satan to use his freedom to disobey the Father. Our freedom must bring us closer to God, not push us away as happened with the Devil.
Remaining obedient to God's Word is the secret to staying free from sin. Freedom is not about "walking wherever you want" but knowing that there are places where we can lose our freedom. One of the Devil's main traps is to induce our freedom into libertinism.
Libertinism is the misuse of freedom. When we extrapolate our freedom, we give way to the desires of the flesh. The result of this lack of self-control is falling into sin. When our actions lead us away from God, it is a sign that we have already lost our freedom and are falling into the trap of debauchery.
So always keep God's word as your "GPS" and use your freedom to dedicate yourself even more to God!
Be free!
- Use your freedom to seek God. Praise him, worship him!
- Our freedom came at a high price. Read the Gospel and learn more about Jesus.
- Use your freedom to set other people free. Proclaim the Good News of the Lord, share the Word that sets man free from sin.
- Read God's Word and be aware of the pitfalls of licentiousness.
Pray:
Lord Jesus, how good it is to be free to worship you! Thank you so much for everything you've done for me, your blood has reached me. I want to remain free to praise You and proclaim Your Word that sets me free. In Jesus' name, amen!
Day Before Yesterday's Devotional
There's something better to love...
Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them.
1 John 2:15
When the Bible mentions the "world", it can be referring to the physical planet where we live, to all nations, to the human race, or as in this case, to the corrupted system of things and values we find in this fallen world. In today's verse, love of the world speaks to us of interest in and attachment to everything that gives rise to pride, selfishness and other sins. The desire and admiration for the attractions of the world will oppose the love and dedication given to God and His will.
Look at the activities, ideas, feelings or hobbies in your life - have they taken the place of God in your heart? What do you devote more time, effort and money to? Remove the idols that are in your heart. Understand that it's not wrong to dream of having better things in life. The problem is when these same things become the most important thing to you. The Father's love needs to be number one in your heart, everything else will be in addition, not pole position.
Dedicate your love to the right cause:
- Pray and ask God to help you identify the areas or worldly tendencies you have been leaning toward.
- Ask for forgiveness if you know that you have loved the world more than the Lord... Always aspire to have God first in your heart.
- Take care that the simple things of everyday life don't become idols in your life: relationships, money, leisure, status, addictions, etc.
- Seek to learn from the Bible how to love God more. Set aside time every day for reading and meditation.
- There is nothing and no one in this world who deserves our love more than the Lord God.
Pray:
Beloved Father, I need you. Forgive me when I feel so drawn to the things of this evil world. Help me to keep my eyes fixed on Jesus Christ and to love the things that matter in this life. May the Father's love remain in me and may I love Him above all things. In Jesus' name, Amen!
What is the Daily Devotional
The Daily Devotional is a special moment of your day that you dedicate to having a precious time of intimacy with God. It is very simple to establish an exciting routine of discovery and spiritual growth. You will achieve this by setting aside a moment each day to draw near to the Lord. During the Devotional, you will read a Bible verse with a meditation on the text. Then, you will meditate on the teachings and how to apply them in your life. In the end, you can pray.
How to do your Daily Devotional
Here are some tips for making the most of reading the Bible message during the Daily Devotional:
- Set aside a moment and choose a specific place: your devotional time will be more beneficial if you set aside the hustle and bustle and invest in a pleasant time alone with God.
- Read the verse or Bible passage attentively: develop a lifestyle committed to the Word of God every day and avoid distractions.
- Read the daily meditation: reflect and try to understand God's purpose for your life through the comments.
- Practical application: jot down your findings and don't forget to put into practice everything you have learned through the Bible.
- Share what you learned: try to share with people around what God has been teaching you in your moments of daily devotion as you go about your daily conversations and interactions.
Don't forget the importance of living a life fully committed to the Word of God!
