Daily Devotional

A daily devotional to strengthen your relationship with God.

Today's Devotional

He has always loved us!

God created us and loved us from the beginning. Before we realized who we were, we were already loved by him. God's love has no physical or spiritual barriers, he has loved us forever!

When we know that we are loved by God - and recognize the proof of love embodied in Jesus - our lives take on a new perspective. We are hit by a wave of gratitude. Then we think: what have we done to receive so much love? If we look for a reason to justify ourselves, we won't find one. God chose to love us because he is God!

We have received his love freely and we must reciprocate it in the same way. Love God unconditionally. Return God's love by loving him. This "two-way street" is called a relationship. To love and be loved, that's the relationship God wants from us.

Here's how to repay God's love:

  • Loving God (1 Chronicles 16:34 and Deuteronomy 6:5)
  • Loving our neighbor (Matthew 22:36-40 and 1 John 4:19-21)
  • Obeying His Word (John 14:15 & John 14:21)
  • Sharing this love (Matthew 28:19-20 & Mark 16:15)
  • Try loving God in all these ways, abide in His love! He loves you and wants to be by your side at all times.

Pray:

Lord, how good it is to be loved by you! Your grace has reached me and I can only thank you for this sublime love. Thank you Father, amen!

Increase your love

"9 And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, 10 so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, 11 filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ—to the glory and praise of God."
- Philippians 1:9-11

This is a beautiful prayer made by the apostle Paul to the Philippians; indirectly, it has also reached each of us. In it, he asks for love to increase in two fundamental things:

  1. knowledge
  2. perception

An increase in love is fundamental nowadays. But it's not something nominal or superficial. Love implies knowledge and all perception (discernment, being attentive). This means that we need to know more about the object of our love: God in the first place, and our neighbor as ourselves.

In addition, we also need to be attentive, with all perceptions, to love more and better. This means no longer being insensitive and alienated, but paying attention to others and their needs. Remember, you were and are loved by the greatest Love in the world. That's why you can also show greater love for God and others.

Love in Action!

  • Being loved and loving changes our understanding of living, it should change our attitude towards everything and everyone.
  • Look for ways to get to know God better, through a personal relationship with Him. Also, try to get to know the reality of other people. Get involved, participate, and find ways to love more.
  • Pray more and get to know the Bible better - reading, preaching, Bible studies, and courses are good ways.
  • Look around you, like the "good Samaritan". See what you can do for others today.
  • Ask God to increase your love (and that of the whole church), to love with knowledge and a good understanding and sensitivity.

Pray:

Lord our God, help me to love more.
Teach me to love you faithfully above all things, and also to love those who are the object of your love.
May I notice those who suffer along the way and extend my arms to the afflicted.
Increase knowledge and a good understanding of life, so that Your love is reflected in me and reaches out to others around me. In the name of Jesus, I thank you for everything.
Amen!

Day Before Yesterday's Devotional

God's creativity is in you!

God is the supreme Creator, and His creativity is infinite! Look around and see the world He has made - the delicate flowers, the singing birds, the dazzling colors of the sunset. All of this is testimony to God's incredible creativity.

We human beings are the pinnacle of this creativity. God made us in His image and likeness, and that means we carry a piece of His creativity in us. He has given us unique gifts and talents to use for His glory.

When we use our creativity to do good, we are reflecting the image of God. We can create works of art, write inspiring music, solve complex problems and help those in need. Every time we do something good and beautiful, we are showing the world the greatness of our Creator.

However, we also need to remember that we are stewards of God's creativity. He has given us these gifts to look after and use responsibly. We must use them to bless others and to fulfil God's purpose for us.

For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
- Ephesians 2:10

So remember that you are a work of God's creativity. Use your gifts to do good and glorify Him, because then you'll be living according to the purpose He has for your life.

God's creativity is in you!

  • Use your creativity to inspire others through words or actions that promote love, hope and compassion.
  • Face challenges with a creative mind, seeking innovative and effective solutions to the situations you encounter.
  • Develop your creative gifts by honing your skills and applying them to projects that glorify God and benefit humanity.

Pray:

Father, thank you that you are a creative God. Empower us with Your creativity to inspire, solve and improve. May our actions glorify Your name and bless this world. Amen.

What is the Daily Devotional

The Daily Devotional is a special moment of your day that you dedicate to having a precious time of intimacy with God. It is very simple to establish an exciting routine of discovery and spiritual growth. You will achieve this by setting aside a moment each day to draw near to the Lord. During the Devotional, you will read a Bible verse with a meditation on the text. Then, you will meditate on the teachings and how to apply them in your life. In the end, you can pray.

How to do your Daily Devotional

Here are some tips for making the most of reading the Bible message during the Daily Devotional:

  1. Set aside a moment and choose a specific place: your devotional time will be more beneficial if you set aside the hustle and bustle and invest in a pleasant time alone with God.
  2. Read the verse or Bible passage attentively: develop a lifestyle committed to the Word of God every day and avoid distractions.
  3. Read the daily meditation: reflect and try to understand God's purpose for your life through the comments.
  4. Practical application: jot down your findings and don't forget to put into practice everything you have learned through the Bible.
  5. Share what you learned: try to share with people around what God has been teaching you in your moments of daily devotion as you go about your daily conversations and interactions.

Don't forget the importance of living a life fully committed to the Word of God!
