Daily Devotional

A daily devotional to strengthen your relationship with God.

Today's Devotional

Take care of your brother!

"I always thank my God for you because of his grace given you in Christ Jesus."
1 Corinthians 1:4

In this verse, we can see the apostle Paul's desire to encourage his brothers. The church in Corinth was going through problems, but Paul's attitude was surprising: he begins the epistle by thanking God for the lives of the brothers in that region.

Paul had a grateful heart because he knew that Jesus also died for them. If God had poured out his grace on them, why not continue to be a channel of blessing in building up the brothers?

The apostle understood that every good seed needs care: it needs to be watered and pruned in order to bear fruit. Despite the failings of the brothers in Corinth, Paul understood that "pruning" was necessary for the seed to sprout and take shape. Caring is not only about ecouragement, but also about gratitude.

Show support by building up your brother's faith!

  • Try to build up your brother's faith through the Word of God. Share the essential food of faith!
  • Teach when necessary, but also rejoice in your brother's victories.
  • Take time out of your day to pray for your brother or sister. It will do your brother and you good.

Pray:

Lord Jesus, I want to thank you for the life of (your brother's name). Your grace has reached him and I am grateful to You for this gift. May Your presence be even greater in his life. In Jesus' name, amen!

Yesterday's Devotional

God wants to renew your life

22 You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; 23 to be made new in the attitude of your minds; 24 and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.
- Ephesians 4:22-24

We all know that we're not perfect. Even though we have Jesus Christ in our lives, we are far from perfect people. We are not the perfect children, nor the perfect parents, nor the impeccable friends, nor the perfect spouse, much less Christians without a single flaw.

Every day we need to abandon things that displease God. These are attitudes, thoughts and habits that still belong to the old nature, corrupted by impure desires and deceit. We need to let the Holy Spirit renew our thoughts and attitudes. Only then will we put on his new nature, created to be truly righteous and holy like Jesus Christ.

Renewal begins from the inside out:

  • Although many want to see an external and instantaneous transformation, God acts according to His will. He begins to work within us, through the Word, and acts in due course.
  • Allow God to work in your life, through His Spirit, moulding your heart.
  • God can make everything new in you. Give up sin, cling to the Lord, living the newness of life that Christ gives you.
  • Read Romans 12:2 and ask God to renew your understanding, so that you realise the good, perfect and pleasing will of God in your life.
  • Pray and seek renewal in the Lord. The goal is to become more and more like Christ.

Pray:

Renew me, Lord Jesus, I no longer want to be the same.
Renew me, Lord Jesus, put your heart in me...
Because everything inside me needs to be changed, Lord.
Because everything inside my heart needs you more...
Amen.

Day Before Yesterday's Devotional

To be peaceful is to be blessed!

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.

Matthew 5:9

In the Gospel of Matthew, chapter 5, Jesus went up on a mountain and began to teach the people. At one point, Jesus talked about the Beatitudes and said that those who promote peace are blessed. In a world of heightened passions, being a peacemaker - besides being wise - is to be a child of God!

Continuing his sermon, Jesus spoke about the importance of reconciliation. Many times, whether justified or not, extending a hand is a difficult task, but as Jesus said, it's better to make peace as soon as possible because the consequences are much worse.

Every day, people are getting more aggressive and picking fights for any reason. Attitudes like these can generate wounds and contaminate us. Stay calm; turn to Christ. He is the Prince of Peace! Jesus, in His earthly journey, He consistently pursued peace, even amidst turmoil and chaos - so serene that He could calm the sea!

How to be a peacemaker:

  • What subject makes you angry? Try to distance yourself from situations that lead you to sin. Recognizing and addressing these moments will contribute to your growth and maturity.
  • Whenever there is a discussion, seek moderation and balance.
  • Ask God for wisdom and discernment. Seek the Holy Spirit.

Let's Pray:

Lord Jesus, I want to learn more from you! Teach me to be kind and peaceful. Forgive the times I have been rude and ignorant to my neighbor. I want to change my attitude, starting today! In Jesus' name, Amen!

What is the Daily Devotional

The Daily Devotional is a special moment of your day that you dedicate to having a precious time of intimacy with God. It is very simple to establish an exciting routine of discovery and spiritual growth. You will achieve this by setting aside a moment each day to draw near to the Lord. During the Devotional, you will read a Bible verse with a meditation on the text. Then, you will meditate on the teachings and how to apply them in your life. In the end, you can pray.

How to do your Daily Devotional

Here are some tips for making the most of reading the Bible message during the Daily Devotional:

  1. Set aside a moment and choose a specific place: your devotional time will be more beneficial if you set aside the hustle and bustle and invest in a pleasant time alone with God.
  2. Read the verse or Bible passage attentively: develop a lifestyle committed to the Word of God every day and avoid distractions.
  3. Read the daily meditation: reflect and try to understand God's purpose for your life through the comments.
  4. Practical application: jot down your findings and don't forget to put into practice everything you have learned through the Bible.
  5. Share what you learned: try to share with people around what God has been teaching you in your moments of daily devotion as you go about your daily conversations and interactions.

Don't forget the importance of living a life fully committed to the Word of God!
