Today's Devotional
Living Proof
"For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, 5 and that he appeared to Cephas, and then to the Twelve. 6 After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers and sisters at the same time, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep. 7 Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles, 8 and last of all he appeared to me also, as to one abnormally born."
- 1 Corinthians 15:3-8
Many people have had to show evidence that they are alive. It may sound strange, but it's actually quite common that some people need to prove to financial or social security institutions that they are alive in order to access money/documentation. Doing this is quite simple, the person just has to go in person to the specified location and show themselves in the flesh.
Do you have proof that our Savior is alive? For Christians and non-believers alike, it is a historical fact that Jesus really existed. Non-Christian historians have also recorded the Lord's death and resurrection. The Bible tells us that after he was resurrected, Jesus not only appeared to his 12 disciples but beyond them to more than 500 people who could easily testify to this fact.
Hold on to this hope: Jesus, the living savior! Our faith is not based on a dead God. The cross and the tomb are empty to prove it. Jesus Christ lives! This is the reason for our hope and what drives the Christian faith every day.
What greater proof of Life?
- Believe it! Jesus' life, death, and resurrection are historical facts attested to and confirmed by countless witnesses.
- Seek the Lord with all your heart - Taste and prove the Lord's life.
- Pray, andask God to reveal the full life of Jesus to your heart.
- Thomas said he needed to see to believe and, like him, many also doubt. Jesus not only showed himself to Thomas, but he also offered to let Thomas touch his wounds. Don't doubt like Thomas, but truly believe!
- Read, listen, meditate, and study the Bible. Faith grows as we understand the Word of God.
Pray:
Lord God, I believe that Jesus is alive! I believe that He came to bring us eternal Life and, even though He died in my place, He rose again for Your Glory and praise. I thank you for the countless proofs of life that Christ gives us in the Bible and daily as He walks beside us. Praise be to you for thousands of reasons to trust in the Lord and in your love. Thank you for life in Christ Jesus. Amen!
Yesterday's Devotional
Make your mouth a channel of blessing!
Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.
Ephesians 4:29
Our mouths are an important instrument for bringing the word of deliverance. And for this very reason, we must measure what we say and reflect on whether our mouth is a channel of blessing or cursing.
With our tongue we can heal or hurt. It's up to us to choose what we amplify with our mouths. With awareness of this responsibility, we must control our mouths so that we only speak what we really want to say. The Bible can help us develop self-control. More than a source of wisdom, the Bible contains words that heal and save man.
When we feed on God's word, we begin to speak what our heart is full of. More than that, we begin to act according to the Word and we don't say it with our mouths, but with our actions. May your mouth be a channel of blessing!
Being a channel of blessing:
- Avoid speaking too much, try to think before you speak. The more we choose what we say, the more wisely we act.
- Forget "constructive criticism", try to speak words that lift up your brother. It's not necessary to criticize in order to build, but rather to point out solutions.
- The Bible is the greatest source of wisdom you can find. Whoever feeds on its words is a channel of blessing.
Pray:
Lord, make me an instrument in your hands. Use my mouth as a channel for your good news. From You I receive blessings, so may I - through my words - share Your love and favor. Amen!
Day Before Yesterday's Devotional
Service and Gratitude
Now, our God, we give you thanks,
and praise your glorious name.1 Chronicles 29:13
This excerpt from David's song was the fruit of a great offering that the king made with the participation of all the people of Israel in the construction of the temple in Jerusalem. For God's work to be carried out, a great deal of involvement and effort was required. In the face of all that David rejoiced and praised God. When we serve the Lord, no effort is in vain!
Helping in God's work is like planting a seed in good soil. Every time you have the opportunity to serve God, don't just do it, do it with a grateful heart and you'll see how much God will do in your life by putting yourself at His disposal. God is a blesser and loves those who take pleasure in serving him.
Serve the Lord with joy:
- Try to integrate with the brothers and sisters of the church you attend. Make yourself available. By making contact, you will get to know more brothers and sisters and be more involved in God's work.
- When you serve in God's house, even in small tasks, keep in mind that every service is an offering of worship. At the end, prayerfully give your service to the Lord.
Pray:
Lord God, I want to thank you and praise you for all the things you have done in my life. Revive my heart so that I feel more and more pleasure in serving you. I want to serve as Jesus served! I want to rejoice more and more in your house! In Jesus' name, amen!
What is the Daily Devotional
The Daily Devotional is a special moment of your day that you dedicate to having a precious time of intimacy with God. It is very simple to establish an exciting routine of discovery and spiritual growth. You will achieve this by setting aside a moment each day to draw near to the Lord. During the Devotional, you will read a Bible verse with a meditation on the text. Then, you will meditate on the teachings and how to apply them in your life. In the end, you can pray.
How to do your Daily Devotional
Here are some tips for making the most of reading the Bible message during the Daily Devotional:
- Set aside a moment and choose a specific place: your devotional time will be more beneficial if you set aside the hustle and bustle and invest in a pleasant time alone with God.
- Read the verse or Bible passage attentively: develop a lifestyle committed to the Word of God every day and avoid distractions.
- Read the daily meditation: reflect and try to understand God's purpose for your life through the comments.
- Practical application: jot down your findings and don't forget to put into practice everything you have learned through the Bible.
- Share what you learned: try to share with people around what God has been teaching you in your moments of daily devotion as you go about your daily conversations and interactions.
Don't forget the importance of living a life fully committed to the Word of God!
