God is present

The LORD Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress.

Psalm 46:7

"The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel" (which means "God with us").

Matthew 1:23

God is the present God! He does not abandon you when the crisis tightens or when sadness comes. Unlike all who have abandoned you, He is a strong fortress in times of distress. Every difficulty you are going through can be eased by the mighty hands of the Lord! He is great and is by your side, even if you don't feel it. He renews your hopes and transforms your darkness into light...

Jesus is the great Immanuel - “God with us.” He could have lived above us or far from us, but He did not! He lived among us and cared for the weak and helpless. He became a friend to sinners and a brother to the poor. He is present, and He sustains you through every storm. Trust in the Lord persistently!

God came to us

  • God of us all! Jesus did not limit or restrict His company to a specific group: He is the present God with all — men, women, small and great, nationals and foreigners, sick and healthy, weak and courageous. He is our God!
  • God is present in the mountains and in the valleys. He accompanies you in suffering and joy. Remember this every day.
  • Pray for His presence to be noticeable in your life. Acknowledge God in your ways.
  • Cling to the Word of God every day. It will teach you and strengthen your faith.
  • You are not alone! You are secure in the hands of the Savior of the world. Rest in the Lord!

Let’s Pray:

Lord, thank you for Your constant presence. When everyone else withdraws, You remain close to us, taking care of us. I believe that You, God Emmanuel, will never abandon us, even when everything seems so difficult and lost. Stay with us, our beloved and good Jesus, today and always, through Your eternal love! Amen.

Yesterday's Devotional

Word of the Day: Find peace in all situations!

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:6-7

In the passage above Paul hands us advice on what we can do in every situation to find peace. His solution is through prayer and petition. when we do this we receive the peace of God, which we are told will guard our hearts.

Later in the same passage, we see a little more of the character of Paul and how his peace is manifested:

I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. 12 I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. 13 I can do all this through him who gives me strength.

Philippians 4:11-13

The Apostle Paul witnessed great miracles and had great success as a preacher, but he also suffered much pain, sadness, and persecution. Paul had many ups and downs, but he learned how to have peace and contentment in all circumstances.

He trusted in Jesus. When you trust in Jesus, you can find peace even in the most difficult times!

Day Before Yesterday's Devotional

Do not despise or judge your brother

You, then, why do you judge your brother or sister? Or why do you treat them with contempt? For we will all stand before God's judgment seat. It is written:

“'As surely as I live,' says the Lord,
'every knee will bow before me;
every tongue will acknowledge God.'”

So then, each of us will give an account of ourselves to God. Therefore, let us stop passing judgment on one another. Instead, make up your mind not to put any stumbling block or obstacle in the way of a brother or sister.

Romans 14:10-13

This is an immensely important theme, yet unfortunately, it's equally forgotten and neglected by many Christians. It seems that at every turn, we're ready to defend ourselves against anyone who disagrees with us. We feel proud when we judge others as wrong or weak in faith.

But Jesus teaches us not to judge anyone (Matthew 7:1) so that we won't be judged ourselves. There is only one judge, and definitely, it's not us...

In the passage today, we're reminded that each of us will be held accountable before God. Hence, let's not become stumbling blocks for others. Our freedom, beliefs, and understanding must never exceed our duty to care for and love our brothers.

Love faithfully as Christ loved you!

  • Pray for your brothers in faith and be one with them.
  • Forgive others and don't be offended by their immaturity. God knows everyone's intentions.
  • Do not condemn or judge if other Christians have different convictions, practices, or customs from yours. They are serving the Lord, not you.
  • Remember: our war is not against our brothers and sisters in Christ, nor against unbelievers (Ephesians 6:12). Live in peace with everyone!

Let's Pray:

Lord our God, help me to love my brothers and sisters despite differences in opinion, conviction, and culture. Help me not to judge or belittle my brother, who is equally loved by You. May Your infinite love transform our lives and make us one in the Lord! May Christ be the center of our lives and the bond that unites us, today and always! Amen.
