Today's Devotional
Walking on the waters!
“Lord, if it's you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.” “Come,” He said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus.
Matthew 14:28-29
There are times in our lives when we will have to pass through storms; it's inevitable. But one thing we must not forget: God is on our side, even in the most difficult situations. It may seem like an obvious statement, but it's very common for us to forget about God when life's complications begin to appear.
We often only remember God when certain situations reach their breaking point. Storms like this are allowed by God for our learning and to stretch us to a higher level of faith in Him. Miracles only happen when nothing seems to have a solution anymore, and our faith is only put into action in this way.
After that miracle in the storm, Peter had the opportunity to experience something more. Obeying Jesus' word, he put his feet on the water and went to meet Christ, experiencing the supernatural. When we are with Jesus, we always have the opportunity to experience something more in our lives. And the more we learn from Jesus, the more we experience His power. Our faith is built up, and so we walk on the waters to meet the Creator.
Getting out of the boat:
- Be attentive to listen to the voice of God. Pray, meditate on His word, developing more intimacy with Him.
- Learn to identify yourself as someone who depends on God's help. He wants to see our growth in faith. God wants our spiritual maturity.
- When your faith needs to spring into action, keep your eyes focused solely on Christ and His word. Peter walked on the water but sank because he lost his focus on external factors.
Let's pray:
Lord Jesus, I understand that all things work together for the good of those who love You. Please cultivate within me a heart that places greater trust in Your word. Provide me with the circumstances necessary for me to grow in You. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Cast your cares upon Him
Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you
1 Peter 5:7
Casting our worries onto God is a simple and effective way to address the problem of anxiety. However, this attitude requires a certain degree of trust and total surrender. When we entrust to God what causes us anxiety, we begin to enjoy a surprising sense of peace and tranquility because we know that everything is in the best hands. Everything is under the control of the Lord of the universe, who cares for us.
What worries you today? Family problems, debts, studies, work, illness, the future? Whatever the cause of your anxiety, whether big or small, the Bible instructs us to cast all our cares on God. Entrust everything to the Lord in prayer. By doing this, you can rest in Him, trusting that God cares for you and will act according to His good will in all situations.
How to cast your anxieties on God today:
- Pray, speaking to Him about all the issues that have been troubling you, and asking Him to guide and direct you.
- Surrender everything without reservation and truly leave it in His care, because He cares for you.
- Trust that the Lord will continue to take care of all the circumstances of your life.
Let's Pray:
Lord God, I want to cast all my anxieties on You... I place my worries and everything that has been troubling me into Your hands. I ask for Your help to rest in the Lord, trusting in Your care and Your great love for me. I thank You in advance, believing that Your peace can calm my heart. Amen!
Day Before Yesterday's Devotional
Soothing the soul
Return to your rest, my soul,
for the Lord has been good to you!
Psalm 116:7
One standout quality of David was his unwavering submission to God. The "warrior king" went through various struggles and persecutions and never hesitated to pour out his heart to God. In every moment of prayer, David truly laid his heart before God.
The king taught us how to behave in distress. In this psalm, David affirms to himself the deeds of the Lord; thus, as the king recognized God's favor, he calmed his soul, gaining confidence in God. When faced with uncertainty, David turned his thoughts to the deeds of the Lord.
Recognizing the power of God is the best remedy against anxiety. Remembering what the Lord has already done points us to what God can do again! Trust in the Lord; calm your soul, for He has been good to you.
Soothing the soul
- Reflect on the blessings and deeds of the Lord in your life. If He has done great things before, imagine what He can do now!
- Thank God for what He has already done for you. Take a moment for thanksgiving. A grateful heart to God is light and open to receiving even more blessings.
- Read the Bible and see how much God loves us. Meditate on His word and feed on the word that is effective.
Let's Pray:
Lord God, You are mighty, and nothing and no one can hinder You! You have already accomplished great things in my life, and for that, I am grateful to You. My trust is in You, thus my soul finds peace in Your mighty strength. Amen.
What is the Daily Devotional
The Daily Devotional is a special moment of your day that you dedicate to having a precious time of intimacy with God. It is very simple to establish an exciting routine of discovery and spiritual growth. You will achieve this by setting aside a moment each day to draw near to the Lord. During the Devotional, you will read a Bible verse with a meditation on the text. Then, you will meditate on the teachings and how to apply them in your life. In the end, you can pray.
How to do your Daily Devotional
Here are some tips for making the most of reading the Bible message during the Daily Devotional:
- Set aside a moment and choose a specific place: your devotional time will be more beneficial if you set aside the hustle and bustle and invest in a pleasant time alone with God.
- Read the verse or Bible passage attentively: develop a lifestyle committed to the Word of God every day and avoid distractions.
- Read the daily meditation: reflect and try to understand God's purpose for your life through the comments.
- Practical application: jot down your findings and don't forget to put into practice everything you have learned through the Bible.
- Share what you learned: try to share with people around what God has been teaching you in your moments of daily devotion as you go about your daily conversations and interactions.
