Daily Devotional

A daily devotional to strengthen your relationship with God.

Today's Devotional

God is the strength of your heart!

"My flesh and my heart may fail,
but God is the strength of my heart
and my portion forever."

Psalm 73:26

By accepting our limitations, we recognize everything God has done for us. When we understand that everything comes from the Lord, we realize how much he cares.

Recognizing our weakness is not an excuse for sinning, but a reason to pursue God even more. When we don't recognize God's power, we have this false impression that we conquer all things with the strength of our two arms, when everything we receive is through the Father's grace.

God's grace gave the inheritance of Salvation and no amount of effort could repay the price paid on the cross. The strength of our arm is limited, but the strength that comes from God propels us to accomplish great things!

With God, we do more!

  • Recognize your limitations, and respect yourself. Understand that everything good comes from God.

  • Seek strength in the Word of God. It is effective in cooling our souls and invigorating our strength.

  • Don't feel weak, your strength comes from God. Seek the source, pray.

Pray:

Lord, you are my strength. When I feel weak, your Word invigorates me. I am grateful to You, because I know that Your hand has sustained me. Thank you Father, amen!

Increase your love

"9 And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, 10 so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, 11 filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ—to the glory and praise of God."
- Philippians 1:9-11

This is a beautiful prayer made by the apostle Paul to the Philippians; indirectly, it has also reached each of us. In it, he asks for love to increase in two fundamental things:

  1. knowledge
  2. perception

An increase in love is fundamental nowadays. But it's not something nominal or superficial. Love implies knowledge and all perception (discernment, being attentive). This means that we need to know more about the object of our love: God in the first place, and our neighbor as ourselves.

In addition, we also need to be attentive, with all perceptions, to love more and better. This means no longer being insensitive and alienated, but paying attention to others and their needs. Remember, you were and are loved by the greatest Love in the world. That's why you can also show greater love for God and others.

Love in Action!

  • Being loved and loving changes our understanding of living, it should change our attitude towards everything and everyone.
  • Look for ways to get to know God better, through a personal relationship with Him. Also, try to get to know the reality of other people. Get involved, participate, and find ways to love more.
  • Pray more and get to know the Bible better - reading, preaching, Bible studies, and courses are good ways.
  • Look around you, like the "good Samaritan". See what you can do for others today.
  • Ask God to increase your love (and that of the whole church), to love with knowledge and a good understanding and sensitivity.

Pray:

Lord our God, help me to love more.
Teach me to love you faithfully above all things, and also to love those who are the object of your love.
May I notice those who suffer along the way and extend my arms to the afflicted.
Increase knowledge and a good understanding of life, so that Your love is reflected in me and reaches out to others around me. In the name of Jesus, I thank you for everything.
Amen!

Day Before Yesterday's Devotional

Where to find salvation and strength?

This is what the Sovereign LORD, the Holy One of Israel, says: “In repentance and rest is your salvation; in quietness and trust is your strength, but you would have none of it.

Isaiah 30:15

In a broken and chaotic world like the one we live in, it's sometimes difficult to rest our hearts and keep our eyes fixed on the Lord. But desire this and try to pay attention to what the Lord says. For He grants the much-desired strength on sad, frustrating, and tiring days...

In this verse, the prophet Isaiah warns the people of God about the rejection of two important aspects of anyone's life: salvation and strength that come from God. But saved from what? Strength for what? All people without God are condemned to a sad fate unless they accept the free offer that Jesus gives (John 3:16–17). Everyone is weak when they rely on their own strength.

According to the word of the Lord, salvation is obtained through repentance and rest in Him. Resting means sustaining oneself, surrendering oneself, and finding peace in the Lord.

True strength and consistency lie in quietness and truly trusting, i.e., serenity and genuine faith. It seems simple, doesn't it? But often We find ourselves amidst so much agitation, in a whirlwind of information and voices, that we can no longer discern and hear the voice of God. Stop for a moment... It's necessary to seek refuge and peace from God.

In the Word of God, you will find encouragement to fully live life with Jesus and to be strong and resilient to endure the bad days.

Finding salvation and strength in God:

  • God is pleased with repentant and broken hearts. Confess your faults and ask God for forgiveness.
  • If you still don't understand what salvation is, seek help and discover it through the Holy Bible.
  • Decompress! Without pressure, set aside time to be alone with God.
  • Pray to God in secret. Seek Him with your heart and without haste for other tasks.
  • Focus on God. Amidst all the distractions, such as screens, media, and entertainment, you need to make an effort to be focused and in communion with Jesus.
  • Seek the Word of God daily through reading, meditation, listening, and study. It illuminates, nourishes, and guides your path.

Let’s Pray:

My Lord, save me from all evil! Save me from eternal condemnation and from the sins that try to imprison me here. Save me from myself, for I am flawed and lack Your glory. Forgive me, Lord... I surrender my heart and my entire life to You. Strengthen me through Your Word, in the name of Jesus! Amen!

What is the Daily Devotional

The Daily Devotional is a special moment of your day that you dedicate to having a precious time of intimacy with God. It is very simple to establish an exciting routine of discovery and spiritual growth. You will achieve this by setting aside a moment each day to draw near to the Lord. During the Devotional, you will read a Bible verse with a meditation on the text. Then, you will meditate on the teachings and how to apply them in your life. In the end, you can pray.

How to do your Daily Devotional

Here are some tips for making the most of reading the Bible message during the Daily Devotional:

  1. Set aside a moment and choose a specific place: your devotional time will be more beneficial if you set aside the hustle and bustle and invest in a pleasant time alone with God.
  2. Read the verse or Bible passage attentively: develop a lifestyle committed to the Word of God every day and avoid distractions.
  3. Read the daily meditation: reflect and try to understand God's purpose for your life through the comments.
  4. Practical application: jot down your findings and don't forget to put into practice everything you have learned through the Bible.
  5. Share what you learned: try to share with people around what God has been teaching you in your moments of daily devotion as you go about your daily conversations and interactions.

Don't forget the importance of living a life fully committed to the Word of God!
