Today's Devotional

Find meaning and happiness in God

"Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart."
Psalm 37:4

Timothy Keller, a North American Christian pastor, and author, said in his book "Counterfeit Gods": "If we look to created things to give us the meaning, hope, and happiness that only God himself can give, it will eventually break our hearts.."

Everything we most desire in life can only be truly achieved when we seek it in Jesus Christ. We often feel frustrated because we have placed our reason for living in people or things. But the Bible shows us that the meaning of life, true joy, and a sense of personal fulfillment can only be satisfied in God, who made us for His purpose and knows our hearts. Put your trust in Him, God can transform you into a fulfilled and happy person!

Finding meaning and satisfaction in the Lord

  • Seek God first! Looking for fulfillment in the wrong places will lead to disappointment.

  • Pray and give God your dreams and goals in life. He will give you what is best for you.

  • Trust God with all your heart. He can restore you and renew your hope.

  • Find the key to getting the answers you are looking for in the Bible. God's Word is a source of light and nourishment for your soul.

  • With Jesus, God gives you every blessing. Without him, you will never feel complete and happy.

Pray:

Lord God, thank you, because only in you can I find complete joy! So many times I have been disappointed and frustrated because I trusted in people, things or myself. Forgive me for seeking happiness in limited creatures and not in the Lord. The fleeting things of this life cannot satisfy the desires of my heart. But the Lord can do all things! Mold me and fill me with pure and true joy, in Jesus' name. Amen!

Yesterday's Devotional

Do not conform to this world!

Do not conform to the pattern of this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is - His good, pleasing and perfect will.

Romans 12:2

Every year, the world presents us with patterns that often lead us away from God. There always seems to be some "new thing" that ends up consuming much of our time, inadvertently diminishing our devotion to God.

The pattern of this world does not align with the will of God. When we prioritize God, naturally, we will not fit into the trends of this world. This is only possible through the Holy Spirit, who draws us closer to God.

When we align ourselves with God's will, we gain balance and control over our worldly desires. As a result, we are no longer influenced by this world and begin to shine on earth, reflecting the will of the Father!

Transforming the mind:

  • Seek self-control and balance through the Word of God.
  • Exercise caution with the "new thing" that the world offers. Reflect on whether these trends might lead you away from God.
  • What the world offers may be good, but what God offers is even better!
  • Pursue sanctification, pray, dedicate a portion of your day to God.

Let's Pray:

Lord, the world offers me conveniences, but what You offer is even better! There is nothing more precious than Your presence in my life. Fill me with Your Spirit so that I can influence the world with Your Word. In Jesus' name, Amen!

Day Before Yesterday's Devotional

You won't be short of anything!

9 Fear the Lord, you his holy people,
for those who fear him lack nothing.
10 The lions may grow weak and hungry,
but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing.

Psalm 34:9-10

By faith, you will not lack anything you need!
God exercises his care and provision even in the most difficult times of our lives. Remember that on the darkest days, the sun continues to shine behind the clouds. We can't see it, but it's there shining... Our eyes can't see it, but God is still on His holy throne in heaven, He sees all and can do all. He is also at your side, you just have to believe! He is good, He sustains those who trust and rest in Him.

In the desert, the people of Israel complained about the lack of the variety of food they had in Egypt. But they could enjoy daily water and manna, the bread from heaven, which God sent. They forgot to be thankful for what they already had and that this phase in the desert was temporary, that they would be fine if they didn't grumble so much...

The heavenly Father always takes care of his children. Even if you don't have 'everything' that you would like to have, be grateful for what you already have now. God gives you enough for today and helps you to carry on. Believe this most difficult phase will pass! Be satisfied with Jesus, the living Bread that came down from heaven, and trust that He is the God of miracles!

What's missing?

  • Depend more on the Provider than on provision.
  • Read Matthew 6:25-34. What does Jesus teach you in these words?
  • Reflect on life for a moment: is what you have enough? Do I have air to breathe, something to eat, drink and wear?
  • Pray, ask God for today's 'bread' and give thanks. Repeat the prayer tomorrow and the next day.
  • You don't need to accumulate possessions to be prosperous and happy. The greatest wealth in life is having God and enjoying His provision daily.
  • Ask God to help you use the resources you have at your disposal. Fight with the weapons God has given you!
  • Share what God gives you with those in need. With Christ, little is much; He multiplies when we share!
  • Find a mature brother or sister in the faith, tell them what's troubling you and ask them to pray with you. You are not alone!
  • Jesus can turn lack into prosperity. Give him your cause and depend on the Lord.

Pray:

My Lord and my God, I trust in your provision! Help me always to depend and trust on your Word. Thank you for what I have, God. Even though it may be small, You have never left me lacking in essentials. I trust in You, now and always! Look at our situation, Father, and bless us for your glory! I thank you for everything, in Jesus' name, amen!

What is the Daily Devotional

The Daily Devotional is a special moment of your day that you dedicate to having a precious time of intimacy with God. It is very simple to establish an exciting routine of discovery and spiritual growth. You will achieve this by setting aside a moment each day to draw near to the Lord. During the Devotional, you will read a Bible verse with a meditation on the text. Then, you will meditate on the teachings and how to apply them in your life. In the end, you can pray.

How to do your Daily Devotional

Here are some tips for making the most of reading the Bible message during the Daily Devotional:

  1. Set aside a moment and choose a specific place: your devotional time will be more beneficial if you set aside the hustle and bustle and invest in a pleasant time alone with God.
  2. Read the verse or Bible passage attentively: develop a lifestyle committed to the Word of God every day and avoid distractions.
  3. Read the daily meditation: reflect and try to understand God's purpose for your life through the comments.
  4. Practical application: jot down your findings and don't forget to put into practice everything you have learned through the Bible.
  5. Share what you learned: try to share with people around what God has been teaching you in your moments of daily devotion as you go about your daily conversations and interactions.

Don't forget the importance of living a life fully committed to the Word of God!
