A daily devotional to strengthen your relationship with God.

Today's Devotional

Christian, rejoice when you are persecuted!

Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

Matthew 5:11-12

When Jesus spoke these words, He was delivering the famous "Sermon on the Mount." In these teachings, He succinctly presented the practical principles and values of the Kingdom of God. The "beatitudes" mark the beginning of this great discourse, bringing inverted standards about the "more than happy" life that Christians can experience.

When we live out our faith in Christ truly and intentionally, the world will oppose us, trying to insult and mistreat us. The Lord teaches us to fill ourselves with joy and contentment when we are persecuted for His sake. The work of Christ is precious! It is worth enduring hardships and insults for the sake of faith... Your reward with God will be much greater!

Rejoice in persecution:

  • Pray daily to God, ask for His guidance and wisdom to deal with persecution.
  • Do not be discouraged in your walk with God because of the difficulties you face. The Lord is by your side in every moment and sustains you.
  • Strengthen your faith through the Word of God every day.
  • Rejoice, praise, and thank God for the privilege of being persecuted for the sake of Jesus Christ.
  • Intercede for the persecuted Church around the world. There are thousands of Christians who are constantly at risk of life and other harm because of their faith.
  • Remain faithful to the Lord! Remember the example of suffering from the disciples, apostles, and the Lord Jesus Christ Himself, who even when persecuted, in prison, under threat of affliction and death, remained faithful until the end!
  • Be careful not to be persecuted for a bad testimony or for acting unwisely!

Let’s Pray:

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for always being by my side, even when I am insulted, wronged, and persecuted for being a Christian. Help me endure difficulties, keeping the faith firm and a good testimony wherever I go. Teach me to rejoice in afflictions and bring to my mind that which gives me hope. Bless all the brothers and sisters who suffer persecution around the world. I ask and thank You in the name of Jesus! Amen.

Yesterday's Devotional

God is present

The LORD Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress.

Psalm 46:7

"The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel" (which means "God with us").

Matthew 1:23

God is the present God! He does not abandon you when the crisis tightens or when sadness comes. Unlike all who have abandoned you, He is a strong fortress in times of distress. Every difficulty you are going through can be eased by the mighty hands of the Lord! He is great and is by your side, even if you don't feel it. He renews your hopes and transforms your darkness into light...

Jesus is the great Immanuel - “God with us.” He could have lived above us or far from us, but He did not! He lived among us and cared for the weak and helpless. He became a friend to sinners and a brother to the poor. He is present, and He sustains you through every storm. Trust in the Lord persistently!

God came to us

  • God of us all! Jesus did not limit or restrict His company to a specific group: He is the present God with all — men, women, small and great, nationals and foreigners, sick and healthy, weak and courageous. He is our God!
  • God is present in the mountains and in the valleys. He accompanies you in suffering and joy. Remember this every day.
  • Pray for His presence to be noticeable in your life. Acknowledge God in your ways.
  • Cling to the Word of God every day. It will teach you and strengthen your faith.
  • You are not alone! You are secure in the hands of the Savior of the world. Rest in the Lord!

Let’s Pray:

Lord, thank you for Your constant presence. When everyone else withdraws, You remain close to us, taking care of us. I believe that You, God Emmanuel, will never abandon us, even when everything seems so difficult and lost. Stay with us, our beloved and good Jesus, today and always, through Your eternal love! Amen.

Day Before Yesterday's Devotional

Living with power!

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.

2 Corinthians 12:9

When we think of a life of power, we immediately imagine someone who is strong, unshakable, full of authority and abilities, right? Yes, that's usually what everyone thinks, but the reality isn't quite like that... Sometimes we only discover great strength when we are at our weakest... It's intriguing how God's logic seems to confuse our natural understanding of strength and power. But when we are weak, in our own strength, then we are strong, in God's strength.

In this verse we read the answer given by God to Paul, after he had prayed three times asking for great suffering to be taken away from him. God's grace is enough! And His power is perfected in us when we are weak. Paul's "thorn in the flesh" served to activate his total trust in God's strength. So too, when we are weakened by life's sufferings, we find the greatest power that comes from Jesus Christ. We can only live with real power when we rely on God's strength and not on ourselves...

Live empowered by God's grace

  • If you feel weak, debilitated, "broken" physically or emotionally, gather all your strength to believe in God with all your heart.
  • Pray and cry out to the Lord when you go through afflictions, He will give you grace and power to overcome!
  • The Holy Spirit gives you power to overcome sin and authority to testify about Christ (Acts 1:8).
  • Take advantage of your troubles to develop a deeper friendship with God.
  • Give thanks for God's grace and presence in your life. He makes you strong!

Pray:

Lord God, help me to live with power through the grace of Jesus Christ! I am small and weak, Father... Without you I can do nothing! Your grace alone is enough for me. You are good, you are the almighty God... Teach me to trust in you in the moments of greatest weakness and suffering that I face. I thank you for your presence, which renews me every day. Be with me, now and always, God! In the name of Jesus, I ask you, amen!

What is the Daily Devotional

The Daily Devotional is a special moment of your day that you dedicate to having a precious time of intimacy with God. It is very simple to establish an exciting routine of discovery and spiritual growth. You will achieve this by setting aside a moment each day to draw near to the Lord. During the Devotional, you will read a Bible verse with a meditation on the text. Then, you will meditate on the teachings and how to apply them in your life. In the end, you can pray.

How to do your Daily Devotional

Here are some tips for making the most of reading the Bible message during the Daily Devotional:

  1. Set aside a moment and choose a specific place: your devotional time will be more beneficial if you set aside the hustle and bustle and invest in a pleasant time alone with God.
  2. Read the verse or Bible passage attentively: develop a lifestyle committed to the Word of God every day and avoid distractions.
  3. Read the daily meditation: reflect and try to understand God's purpose for your life through the comments.
  4. Practical application: jot down your findings and don't forget to put into practice everything you have learned through the Bible.
  5. Share what you learned: try to share with people around what God has been teaching you in your moments of daily devotion as you go about your daily conversations and interactions.

Don't forget the importance of living a life fully committed to the Word of God!
