Today's Devotional

Where to find salvation and strength?

This is what the Sovereign LORD, the Holy One of Israel, says: “In repentance and rest is your salvation; in quietness and trust is your strength, but you would have none of it.

Isaiah 30:15

In a broken and chaotic world like the one we live in, it's sometimes difficult to rest our hearts and keep our eyes fixed on the Lord. But desire this and try to pay attention to what the Lord says. For He grants the much-desired strength on sad, frustrating, and tiring days...

In this verse, the prophet Isaiah warns the people of God about the rejection of two important aspects of anyone's life: salvation and strength that come from God. But saved from what? Strength for what? All people without God are condemned to a sad fate unless they accept the free offer that Jesus gives (John 3:16–17). Everyone is weak when they rely on their own strength.

According to the word of the Lord, salvation is obtained through repentance and rest in Him. Resting means sustaining oneself, surrendering oneself, and finding peace in the Lord.

True strength and consistency lie in quietness and truly trusting, i.e., serenity and genuine faith. It seems simple, doesn't it? But often We find ourselves amidst so much agitation, in a whirlwind of information and voices, that we can no longer discern and hear the voice of God. Stop for a moment... It's necessary to seek refuge and peace from God.

In the Word of God, you will find encouragement to fully live life with Jesus and to be strong and resilient to endure the bad days.

Finding salvation and strength in God:

  • God is pleased with repentant and broken hearts. Confess your faults and ask God for forgiveness.
  • If you still don't understand what salvation is, seek help and discover it through the Holy Bible.
  • Decompress! Without pressure, set aside time to be alone with God.
  • Pray to God in secret. Seek Him with your heart and without haste for other tasks.
  • Focus on God. Amidst all the distractions, such as screens, media, and entertainment, you need to make an effort to be focused and in communion with Jesus.
  • Seek the Word of God daily through reading, meditation, listening, and study. It illuminates, nourishes, and guides your path.

Let’s Pray:

My Lord, save me from all evil! Save me from eternal condemnation and from the sins that try to imprison me here. Save me from myself, for I am flawed and lack Your glory. Forgive me, Lord... I surrender my heart and my entire life to You. Strengthen me through Your Word, in the name of Jesus! Amen!

Yesterday's Devotional

Word of the Day: God loves you: don't give up, even if things get tough!

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
John 16:33

The verse from John 16:33 brings words of comfort and hope from Jesus Christ Himself to His disciples and all of us. It reminds us of two fundamental truths of the Christian life:

  • The first is the promise of peace that Jesus offers us. During the tribulations of the world, where conflicts, worries, and uncertainties are unavoidable, Jesus assures us that we can find peace in Him. This peace is not simply the absence of problems but the presence of God in our lives, regardless of the circumstances. It is a gift we receive through faith in Christ, which sustains and comforts us in difficult times.
  • The second truth is Jesus' victory over the world. He encourages us to take heart, even when troubles surround us. Christ's victory over the world means that ultimately, He has triumphed over sin and death, offering us the opportunity for eternal life with God. Therefore, no matter how intense the adversities we face here on Earth, we know that in Christ, we already have victory assured.

This verse invites us to trust in God, find comfort in His presence, and face life's challenges with courage and hope. By fixing our eyes on Jesus and His victory over the world, we can experience true peace, even in troubles, and be strengthened to live a life of faith, hope, and love.

Don't give up on following Jesus!

Day Before Yesterday's Devotional

Communion with the Word

We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ.

1 John 1:3

It's interesting how God is interested in having communion with his creation. The Bible says that he has not abandoned the universe he has made, but sustains it and cares for it constantly.
In addition, the Lord was willing to have communion with mankind in a very special way. From the beginning, he went to the garden to live with Adam and Eve. Then he came in the person of Jesus Christ, lived with his disciples, dwelt among us... And he gave his children the Holy Spirit, a comforter who dwells with those who believe in Jesus (John 14:26).

In today's verse, John testifies that the apostles shared the gospel with us, everything they had seen and heard about Jesus. Their communion with God is passed on to us today through the Word. May this communion with God, with the Gospel and among Christians all over the world be maintained with you too.

Have communion with God this day!

  • Connect: God is present, even when you're not aware of it!
  • Talk to Him: prayer, praise, thanksgiving, and intercession are good ways to communicate with God.
  • Be connected to the Word: Read, meditate, understand, and practice! Seek to know God through the Holy Bible.
  • Walk in the footsteps of the first disciples. Study and understand the New Testament.
  • Gather in a Christian community: fellowship with other believers. Encourage brothers and sisters, share the faith, and live together in love!

Pray:

Lord, I thank you for your Word! It is living, and effective, and it transforms our lives. Help me to read, understand, and practice it with dedication and commitment. May I grow and remain in communion with you every day, through the knowledge of Jesus Christ. May the Word be a light to my life and always direct me to be closer to the Lord. In Jesus' name! Amen.

What is the Daily Devotional

The Daily Devotional is a special moment of your day that you dedicate to having a precious time of intimacy with God. It is very simple to establish an exciting routine of discovery and spiritual growth. You will achieve this by setting aside a moment each day to draw near to the Lord. During the Devotional, you will read a Bible verse with a meditation on the text. Then, you will meditate on the teachings and how to apply them in your life. In the end, you can pray.

How to do your Daily Devotional

Here are some tips for making the most of reading the Bible message during the Daily Devotional:

  1. Set aside a moment and choose a specific place: your devotional time will be more beneficial if you set aside the hustle and bustle and invest in a pleasant time alone with God.
  2. Read the verse or Bible passage attentively: develop a lifestyle committed to the Word of God every day and avoid distractions.
  3. Read the daily meditation: reflect and try to understand God's purpose for your life through the comments.
  4. Practical application: jot down your findings and don't forget to put into practice everything you have learned through the Bible.
  5. Share what you learned: try to share with people around what God has been teaching you in your moments of daily devotion as you go about your daily conversations and interactions.

Don't forget the importance of living a life fully committed to the Word of God!
