Today's Devotional

Service and Gratitude

Now, our God, we give you thanks,
and praise your glorious name.

1 Chronicles 29:13

This excerpt from David's song was the fruit of a great offering that the king made with the participation of all the people of Israel in the construction of the temple in Jerusalem. For God's work to be carried out, a great deal of involvement and effort was required. In the face of all that David rejoiced and praised God. When we serve the Lord, no effort is in vain!

Helping in God's work is like planting a seed in good soil. Every time you have the opportunity to serve God, don't just do it, do it with a grateful heart and you'll see how much God will do in your life by putting yourself at His disposal. God is a blesser and loves those who take pleasure in serving him.

Serve the Lord with joy:

  • Try to integrate with the brothers and sisters of the church you attend. Make yourself available. By making contact, you will get to know more brothers and sisters and be more involved in God's work.
  • When you serve in God's house, even in small tasks, keep in mind that every service is an offering of worship. At the end, prayerfully give your service to the Lord.

Pray:

Lord God, I want to thank you and praise you for all the things you have done in my life. Revive my heart so that I feel more and more pleasure in serving you. I want to serve as Jesus served! I want to rejoice more and more in your house! In Jesus' name, amen!

Yesterday's Devotional

Defend the gospel!

"When I saw that they were not acting in line with the truth of the gospel, I said to Cephas in front of them all, “You are a Jew, yet you live like a Gentile and not like a Jew. How is it, then, that you force Gentiles to follow Jewish customs?""
Galatians 2:14

Already in his old age and close to death, the apostle Paul told Timothy to be "ready in season and out of season", and forewarned him of the problems that would occur in the future. This advice did not come without experience, as the apostle himself had lived through situations in which he defended the truth in unexpected ways.

In his letter to the Galatians, Paul recounts the time he met Peter, an older apostle who had walked with Christ for years. He might have been intimidated or apprehensive about rebuking him, but dared to do so nonetheless.

In the same way, we must not be intimidated by anyone, and we must stand up for the truth. To do so, we must also train ourselves, and be prepared in season and out of season.

Be ready

  • Prepare yourself by reading the Bible every day.
  • Pray to God and ask him to reveal himself to you, deepen your relationship with the Father.
  • Be courageous enough to be yourself as a Christian in daily life.

Pray:

Lord, my God and Father, I pray to you to give me the wisdom to take a stand at times when the truth is being distorted. Give me, Father, the courage to stand before unbelievers and preach the gospel. Help me, Holy Spirit of God, to be prepared in season and out of season, in Jesus' name, amen.

Day Before Yesterday's Devotional

Put God in your plans

Commit to the Lord whatever you do,
and he will establish your plans.

Proverbs 16:3

There is no better plan than the one that meets God's will. This is the secret to being successful in your plans. Plan to build a family in which the Word of God is the reference, and seek to grow in grace by dedicating yourself to the mission of the gospel. When we seek to do the Father's will, God surprises us with his favor.

When God is in our plans, we have the conviction that everything that happens - be it easy or difficult - will contribute to His glorification. Therefore, having God in our plans is a way of putting Him first in our lives. By taking this attitude, we are recognizing God's sovereignty.

God is powerful, his plans for us are infinitely bigger and better than we can imagine. Put your plans in good hands: put your plans in the Lord's hands!

Putting God in our plans!

  • When you plan something, try to pray and ask for God's direction. He doesn't leave us without direction.
  • Use God's Word as a reference for your plans. The Bible is the best way to align our plans with God's will.

Pray:

Lord Jesus, I have plans for the future and I want to put you in them. The future belongs to You, take charge of my plans and may Your name be glorified through my attitudes. Amen!

What is the Daily Devotional

The Daily Devotional is a special moment of your day that you dedicate to having a precious time of intimacy with God. It is very simple to establish an exciting routine of discovery and spiritual growth. You will achieve this by setting aside a moment each day to draw near to the Lord. During the Devotional, you will read a Bible verse with a meditation on the text. Then, you will meditate on the teachings and how to apply them in your life. In the end, you can pray.

How to do your Daily Devotional

Here are some tips for making the most of reading the Bible message during the Daily Devotional:

  1. Set aside a moment and choose a specific place: your devotional time will be more beneficial if you set aside the hustle and bustle and invest in a pleasant time alone with God.
  2. Read the verse or Bible passage attentively: develop a lifestyle committed to the Word of God every day and avoid distractions.
  3. Read the daily meditation: reflect and try to understand God's purpose for your life through the comments.
  4. Practical application: jot down your findings and don't forget to put into practice everything you have learned through the Bible.
  5. Share what you learned: try to share with people around what God has been teaching you in your moments of daily devotion as you go about your daily conversations and interactions.

Don't forget the importance of living a life fully committed to the Word of God!
